Both seasons offer the best wild viewing experience. But the dry season is the best time to visit the park from the month of June, July, August, September, December, January, and February. During this time, there is little or rains received at all although the weather is unpredictable. The park trails are dry and the savannah grassland is shorter which makes it easier for game viewing and also the park water holes are dry, therefore, the animals are forced to gather in the permanent water points found in the park which also a great opportunity to spot different animal species and the many birds along the water banks.

When you reach at the park, entrance either in the northern or southern sector you are required to pay park entrance fees in order to access the national park and it costs $45 for foreign non-residents, $35 for foreign residents and UGX 25,000 for east African residents. The children pay $25 for foreign non residence, $15 for foreign residence and UGX 10000 for East African Community.

Getting to Murchison falls National Park
The park is situated in the north west of Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Many travelers to Murchison falls, often access the park by road using a public means or private means through a registered tour company who will organize the transportation for you to and from the park. From Kampala or Entebbe airport, via Masindi to the park headquarters, the drive time takes about 5-6 hours to get to Murchison falls national park.
The park can also be accessed from kibale forest national park via Masaka road and drive time takes approximately 5-6 hours.
Alternatively, the park can also be accessed by the air transport, domesticated chattered flight can be arranged from Entebbe international airport and landing in Kajjansi and Pakuba airstrip then the guide will connect you to the park headquarters where you will start of with the activities. The chartered flights are managed by Aero ink Uganda operating daily flight to various national parks in Uganda. Using the flights is less tiresome compared to road transport although road transport offers great opportunity or viewing various attractions along the country side.
